| This is an outstanding exchange programme, operating for 30 years to/from Australia, which involves a visit to NSW, A.C.T. and Victoria by Japanese students and a return visit to Japan by NSW, A.C.T. and Victoria students of Japanese Language. |

| In 2012, Japan to Australia programme is from July 22nd to August 15th and Australia to Japan programme is from December 14th to January 6th 2013. |

| Set out below is the procedure involved. |

Please read this “LABO EXCHANGE TRIP TO JAPAN “ letter and if your school decides to participate, nominate a LABO contact teacher and send us the details of the teacher’s contact details by completing the form at the end of this letter.
Then a Personal Information Sheet (PIS) together with other request forms will be sent to the teacher or to parents as you specify.
Please note that the PIS must be sent in with a current passport copy.
If the student does not have current passport, send in a photocopy of old one until such time renewal is completed, then send in new one.
When filling in their PIS, applicants must give the same name as that in their passport. Preferred names can be put in brackets.
Contact teachers must insist that students start processing the passport straight away.
Please make sure that the students you nominate are mature, able to fit in and involve themselves in such programme. |

This programme is designed to give students the opportunity of enhancing their Japanese Language skills by the home stay experience. They will be treated as a family member.
Deposit of $ 500.00 (outbound programme only) together with completed PIS and all other information sheets are requested by March 24th 2012.
Deposit can be by direct deposit or by a cheque payable to Mitsui Travel.
Note that the deposit is not refundable. |

Estimated cost of the Outbound Exchange programme is $4,790.00
The cost estimate is based on current rates available and subject to change without notice.
This includes return ticket for Japan, ground arrangement by Labo Japan office and comprehensive travel insurance for a party of minimum 12 people travelling together. Cost adjustment may be required due to unforeseen circumstances, number of participants, price structures by airlines and is subject to change without notice. |

In order for Japanese students to be allocated a family please forward the host family applications by February 25th 2012.
Note that students in Australia who host Japanese students will be guaranteed a place in the visit to Japan, should they wish to participate. We hope you can enjoy participating in this great opportunity with the exchange programme. |
